Following an enforced year off, due to the unavailability of insurance during 2023, Motorcycling Ireland have done an enormous amount of work to get Motorcycle Sport back.
Part of this process has involved committing to payment of an insurance premium which has risen to €600,000 euro. The cost is such, that it is not feasible to pass the full increase on to competitors through higher entry fees as this would make all racing unaffordable. In order to protect the finances of Motorcycling Ireland from the effects of the insurance costs and to ensure that continuation of Motorcyle Sport in the Republic of Ireland we are embarking on a fund raising campaign which we hope will be supported by all Irish Motorcycle Racing fans, competitors and club members.
Without the funds we are aiming to raise through this draw, the drain on the organisations funds would leave us unable to commit to a similarly high insurance premium in 2025, or future years, which would signal the end of Motorcycle Sport, in all of its forms, in the Republic of Ireland.
We’re asking you to support this cause to ensure that you can continue to enjoy the sport we all love so much and preserve it for future generations.
